Vitorin and Zetia Investigation

Americas Watchdog Launches National Investigation On Vitorin & Zetia

Americas Watchdog and its Corporate Whistle Blower Center have launched a national investigation into the effectiveness of the heart medications touted as cholesterol fighting drugs named Vitorin and Zetia.

Americas Watchdog now wants to know if the drugs Vytorin or Zetia actually reduced cholesterol as advertised in glitzy TV promotions. According to Americas Watchdog, "You can't have it both ways, either these drugs work or they don't. There is no middle ground."

According to a recent press conference: Merck and Schering said that not only did Zetia fail to slow the accumulation of fatty plaque in the arteries, it actually seemed to contribute to plaque formation --- although by such a small amount that the finding could have been a result of chance.

"This is as bad a result for the drug as anybody could have feared," said Dr. Nissen, a widely published researcher and senior consulting editor to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Millions of patients may be taking a drug that does not benefit them, raising their risk of heart attacks and exposing them to potential side effects".

If a consumer was taking Vytorin or Zetia and suffered an actual increase in cholesterol or a heart attack they should contact Americas Watchdog Immediately at 866-714-6466. Americas Watchdog is interested in discovering the following:

  • Did the use of Vytorin or Zetia have no affect on a users cholesterol, or did cholesterol actually get worse?

  • Was the use of Vytorin or Zetia combined with a massive heart attack?

  • Did a loved one lose a person who was taking Vytorin or Zetia to a massive heart attack?

If the answer is yes, a consumer or a loved one should contact Americas Watchdog immediately at 866-714-6466.

If a medical professional, a physician or a drug sales rep has specific information about any of these drugs they should contact Americas Watchdog immediately at 866-714-6466.
